Research Continues at LSU on Fighting Weeds
LSU AgCenter weed scientist Dr. Donnie Miller at the Northeast Research Station in St. Jo has been doing research the past few years into the use of Dicamba and 2-4-D combined to combat weeds. He says the research hasn’t been easy but it has been rewarding.
“We’re looking at some experimental compounds. The technologies that are used, the amount of trials we use allow us to know exactly what we can look at,” said Miller.
Miller and his team of researchers have been able to get some good answers for producers “and hopefully we can incorporate these technologies into their production system.”
This line of research will continue this year, according to Miller, “looking at how (the technologies) fit into an overall production system such as insecticide applications or fungicide applications. And we’ll be taking a close look at tank mixes as well.”
