Gov. Edwards and Commissioner Strain's Tour Schedule

Governor John Bel Edwards and Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Mike Strain kick off their agriculture listening tour Tuesday.

“I often visit with our agricultural and forestry producers to address questions or allow them to voice their concerns about issues they are facing. We are very excited Governor Edwards will join us so he can hear, first hand, from our producers and learn more how their industries contribute to the state,” said Strain. “This is the first time a sitting governor has joined me to hear directly from those who feed and clothe the world.”

“For generations, Louisiana’s agricultural industries have played a pivotal role in our state’s economic prosperity,” said Gov. John Bel Edwards. “Our abundant natural resources have not only laid the foundation for our unique cultural heritage, they have also made us a leading producer of some of life’s most critical necessities. It is important to me that our farmers and foresters know just how much we appreciate the work they do and that their voices are heard as we work together to move Louisiana forward.”
