Cenla Forestry Forum Set for March 15 in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Cenla Forestry Forum presented by the LSU AgCenter for landowners and timber producers will be held March 15 at the LSU AgCenter State Evacuation Shelter.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the program starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m. A lunch will be served.

Topics include Natural Resources Conservation Service cost-share programs, conservation practices for the Louisiana pine snake, forestry exemptions to the Clean Water Act, tax tips for landowners, arson investigations and enforcement, the 2016 timber market update and forecast, and current forestry issues.

Registration by March 10 is $25. After that date, the fee is $40. Payment should be sent to Robbie Hutchins, 300 Grady Britt Drive, Alexandria, LA 71302.

The Evacuation Shelter is located next to the LSUA campus at 8125 U.S. Highway 71 south of Alexandria.
