Pest Management Enterprises Acquired by SynTech Research Group

Local contract research organization, Pest Management Enterprises (PME), has been acquired by the SynTech Research Group, becoming its primary Louisiana contract research organization (CRO) site. The acquisition promises growth and expanded resources for the local research facility.

According to a letter released by PME, the current research staff will remain in place, with plans for expansion in the coming years. The transition also brings changes in leadership. The current head of PME, Denise Wright, will assume the role of Site Manager and Senior Research Biologist. Grady Coburn, Ph.D., will stay on as a consultant through 2026 to ensure a smooth transition.

The letter emphasizes that the acquisition will not change PME’s core mission. “Our mission has not changed and is aligned with SynTech Research Group to provide quality research with competitive pricing for all our clientele,” the announcement stated. The company aims to maintain its reputation for timely and ethical research.

The acquisition by SynTech is expected to bolster PME’s capabilities. “Becoming a part of the SynTech family will only prove to strengthen our mission and give us more opportunities to serve our customers,” the letter explained. The company provided a synopsis of its research capabilities, including details on staff, crops studied, and types of trials conducted, indicating these areas will remain a focus.

Existing research trials that conclude in 2024 will remain under the ownership of Pest Management Enterprises. New payment procedures from SynTech's finance manager will be communicated to clients by PME's administrative assistant.

PME expressed gratitude for its clients' continued business and emphasized its commitment to ongoing collaboration. The company encouraged clients with questions about the acquisition to reach out directly. The letter concluded with a reaffirmation of its commitment to “cooperative efforts toward the sustainability of agriculture.”
