The LFBF Livestock Committee is excited to open registration for our Southwest Louisiana Beef Tour, which will be a two-day and two-night event scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 17-18, 2023. We will begin with the “Economics and Profitability in the Cattle Business” workshop presented by Mr. Gene Lollis, the ranch manager of the Archbold Biological Research Station in Venus, Florida.

The workshop will be held at the McNeese State University Farm, starting at 9:00 a.m., and will end at approximately 2:00 p.m. Following the workshop will be a tour of the McNeese Farm. From there, driving on their own, our participants will head to the Seven Clans Resort and Casino for check-in and dinner. On Saturday, March 18th, the bus will depart the hotel at 8:00 a.m. heading to the Gray Ranch in Vinton. From there, we will go to the Jim Paul Dupont Ranch in Ragley, and our final stop will be at Fuller Farms in Kinder. We will conclude the tour with a crawfish boil at Fuller Farms that evening, prior to heading back to the hotel.

Registration for the tour is $400.00 per person maximum. The tour is limited to the first 50 people who register. For those attending just the workshop on Friday and not the tour, there will be a $50 registration fee.

For those attending the tour but not requiring rooms for Friday and Saturday nights, there will be a registration fee of $250.00 per person maximum.

The deadline for tour registration is Monday, February 13th, 2023.
