2023 Mid-South Agricultural Labor Seminar

Please make plans to attend the 2023 Mid-South Agricultural Labor Seminar to be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at the West Baton Rouge Conference Center, 2750 North Westport Drive, Port Allen, LA 70767.

The cost to attend is $60 per person which includes lunch. Registration begins at 7 am and the Seminar begins at 8 am and concludes at 2:30 pm.

This year, we strongly encourage farmers and agribusinesses to attend the Mid-South Agricultural Labor Seminar. There have been significant agricultural labor changes that have occurred since 2022 that impact farmers, agribusinesses and workers that we want you to know about to avoid labor violations.

Some of the issues that will be discussed include:

· Understanding the changes contained in the H-2A Final Rule

· The pending H-2A Wage Rule - Impact on harvest trucking

· H-2A Housing Inspections - Louisiana’s Worker Outreach

· OSHA Heat Illness Standards for temps above 80 degrees

· Notices of Deficiency - More info for Returning H-2A Workers

· Legislation - Immigration / Labor in 118th Congress, FWMA?

· New Guatemala H-2A Visa Program - A new option

· H-2B Issues - Cap - Supplemental Visas, Legislation

· US Dept. of Labor - Examples of USDOL Ag Labor Violations

· H-2A Abscondments via Transfer Petitions

Keep in mind, some of our speakers are labor attorneys and can answer other labor questions you may have during Q and A.
