More Disaster Declarations Due To Drought

Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack has notified Governor John Bel Edwards Union Parish has now been declared a disaster area due to the ongoing drought that has plagued Louisiana the past several months.
Several contiguous parishes were also declared disaster areas: Claiborne, Lincoln, Morehouse and Ouachita.
The drought disaster declaration also covers one primary county in Arkansas, Chicot, and three contiguous counties: Ashley, Desha and Drew.
Three counties in Mississippi have been declared contiguous disaster areas: Bolivar, Issaquena and Washington.
This disaster declaration is in addition to all previous disaster declarations due to drought this year.
