Energy Solutions Launches New Ag Solutions Program To Help Lower Utility Bills

From Entergy Solutions

Entergy Solutions, an energy efficiency program open to all Entergy Louisiana customers, recently announced its expanded offerings to better serve our state’s agriculture and agribusiness industries. Our farmers know all too well just how costly agriculture-energy expenditures can be, but Entergy Solutions is here to help. The program offers a variety of ways to decrease unnecessary energy usage and save on expenses while maintaining a modern, safe and, most importantly, profitable operation.

The program works by providing cash incentives to local farm owners for upgrades to ventilation, lighting, refrigeration and irrigation systems, variable frequency drives, and more. Entergy Solutions partners with participating trade allies and retailers, who help identify where upgrades can be made and how to maximize dollar and energy savings.

“Louisiana’s farmers and their families have faced unprecedented obstacles over the course of the past year due to several factors including price inflation, COVID-19 restrictions and natural disasters,” said Heather LeBlanc, Entergy Louisiana energy efficiency program manager. “The Entergy Solutions program is essential to helping customers decrease their energy usage during these difficult times.”

Sign-up and participation are easy, as the first Agriculture Solutions customer, Ragan & Massey, can testify. The customer or contractor will identify the project. Then, after application and pre-approval, materials are ordered and installed. Upon completion, the program schedules a post-installation site visit and distributes the incentives.

“We are so glad Entergy Solutions contacted us about this program,” said Mike Massey, co-owner of Ragan & Massey, Inc. “After a short field audit of our electricity use, they brought us a plan to dramatically reduce our electricity costs, along with proposals from the three trade ally contractors that’d be completing the work. Overall, we’ll receive $18,848 in incentives just from making our facility more energy efficient.”

Restoring Louisiana’s agriculture industry to pre-COVID operations continues to be a top priority for Entergy Solutions. The organization looks forward to increasing its impact in the months ahead to amplify and support even more of Louisiana’s farmers, who represent a critical segment of the state economy.
