Winter Storm Helped The Louisiana Soybean Crop

Wet weather and high temperatures were the biggest problems facing Louisiana soybean producers before they got all of their crop in the ground.
And LSU AgCenter Soybean Specialist Dr. David Mosley reports insect and disease pressure have bee light so far.
“There have been some reports from LSU entomologists and consultants reporting some areas with red banded stink bugs and fall army worm pressure, which makes good scouting always important.
“LSU Pathologists have reported some disease pressure but its not extensive at this point. We actually had low pressure early because of the winter storm,” said Mosely.
Disease pressure would have been more pronounced by now if it hadn’t been for the massive winter storm, “So we might start seeing pressure later in the season than normal.”
