Louisiana Crawfish Season Looks Promising For Producers And Consumers

Ralph Babin is a retired crawfish farmer in Raceland, but still sits on the Louisiana Crawfish Promotion Board. He believes 2021 has got to be better than 2020 ended for the Louisiana crawfish industry.
“It looks like its going to be a promising year,” says Babin. “The weather is going to determine that, of course. But it seems like the prices have started to slide down some because production has picked up a little. But, like I said, the weather will determine how the crawfish production will develop this season.”
“Naturally, if we get cold weather the temperature of the water is going to change and the colder the water, the slower the crawfish will react to the bait.”
