BATON ROUGE, La. - Drawing on the Christmas movie "It's a Wonderful Life," LSU President William Tate IV challenged Baton Rouge's business community Wednesday to envision a world without universities and a Capital City without LSU.
He described five areas of focus that he wants LSU to focus on in the future, and he also said that the state needs better tax policies to compete with the likes of Texas and Florida. The areas that Tate wants to grow at LSU include coastal sciences, cybersecurity, cancer research, agriculture and energy.
