Tonight four men will join the ranks of those chosen to represent the Louisiana agriculture industry as they are inducted into the Louisiana Agriculture Hall of Distinction. Those four are (from top to bottom) John Denison, Dr. James Barnett, Dr.Jay Hardwick and Dr. Calvin Viator. But because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the governors safety requirements this years ceremonies will be live streamed on the Louisiana Radio Network Facebook page. Once again the awards ceremony will originate from the L’Aberge Casino and Resort in Baton Rouge, starting at 7 o’clock. And due to health concerns the new inductees will not be attending but will instead watch the ceremonies from their homes. We hope you can join us via live stream in celebrating a bit unusually the long careers of Calvin Viator, Jay Hardwick, James Barnett and John Dennison as they worked long and hard to improve the life of the Louisiana farmer. The Louisiana Agriculture Hall of Distinction is a joint venture of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation, The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, the LSU AgCenter and the Louisiana Radio Network/Voice of Louisiana Agriculture Radio Network.
