Rapides Parish farmer Jim Harper has been elected president of the Louisiana Farm Bureau, the most influential and politically powerful agriculture advocacy group in the state.
Harper replaces Ronnie Anderson of Ethel, an East Feliciana Parish cattle rancher who had won the job for 31 straight years and was the longest tenured state Farm Bureau president in America. Anderson didn't seek reelection.
