President Donald Trump has signed into law a Houma-Thibodaux area congressman's bill channeling more federal money to help control the nutria population that damages Louisiana's coastal wetlands.
The measure by U.S. Rep. Garret Graves, R-Baton Rouge, amends the Nutria Eradication and Control Act of 2003. It triples the federal money available to kill the marsh-eating rodents to $12 million a year through 2025.
