Phase One Continues For The Mississippi River Dredging Project

The State of Louisiana has now completed the contract for the lower Mississippi River deepening project. Thanks to a cooperative endeavor agreement, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is able to use $2 million in soy checkoff funding allocated in 2019 for the dredging project, which the United Soybean Board (USB) reports will be utilized for the planning, design and research costs associated with the next two phases. Those phases include pipeline relocation and dredging from Mile 154AHP to Baton Rouge.
