MFP: Highest Rates are in Louisiana & Other Southern States

The latest round of Market Facilitation Program payments will inject some needed cash into the rural economy starting next month, but farmers continue to watch and wait for better trade opportunities. The median payment rate nationally is $50, and the highest payment rates fall in a handful of southern states, including Louisiana ($69.98), Georgia ($75.48), Arizona ($79.18), Mississippi ($86.88) and Alabama ($94.62), according to average rates listed by the American Farm Bureau Federation.
