2018 Louisiana Honey Production Up 7 Percent

Honey production during 2018 from Louisiana producers with five or more colonies totaled 3.74 million pounds, up 7 percent from 2017. There were 45,000 honey producing colonies in 2018, up 2,000 colonies from the previous year. Yield per colony averaged 83 pounds of honey, up 2 percent from 2017.
