Anderson Not Running for Commissioner of Agriculture & Forestry
By Avery Davidson, Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation
In a statement, Louisiana Farm Bureau President Ronnie Anderson squashed rumors that he is running for the office of Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry.
“I already have the best job in agriculture representing the 137,000 member families of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation,” said Anderson. “I’ve received a number of phone calls from folks all around the state saying they heard that I was running for office. That’s simply not true. My focus remains, and will always be, representing the grassroots efforts of our volunteer leaders and taking their concerns and policy decisions to Baton Rouge and Washington, D.C. I hope the people starting this rumor would please speak to me first and not spread false information for their own political agenda. The Louisiana Farm Bureau is the Voice of Louisiana Agriculture and I have no intention of taking my voice anywhere else.”
Founded in 1922, the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation is the state’ s largest general farm organization representing more than 137,000 member families. For more information: www.lafarmbureau.org
