Cover Crops Featured at Producer Seminar

OAK GROVE — Row crop growers must successfully terminate cover crops to assure crop stand establishment, LSU AgCenter weed scientist Josh Copes said at a seminar on Feb. 13. For cattle producers, however, other benefits of using winter cover crops include additional forage for cattle, improved soil properties and winter weed suppression, he said.
