New Louisiana Beekeeping Conditions Survey and Report
The Louisiana Beekeepers Association unveiled a new initiative at its recent annual convention in Pineville. To assist state beekeepers better understand changing conditions and beekeeper responses, the LBA will be conducting an annual statewide conditions/responses survey and reporting on these conclusions in spring 2020. This 29-question survey is similar to statewide beekeeping conditions surveys used in a few other states and should take only 10-15 minutes to complete.
Beekeepers across the state are encouraged to participate in this new LBA survey. These new surveys were completed in a session at the recent LBA annual convention and will be distributed at some of the local beekeeping clubs in the next month or so. The LBA hopes to get many commercial, sideline, and hobbyist beekeepers involved, so we can draw possible distinctions in the report between responses of different types of beekeepers to statewide conditions.
State beekeepers who would like to assist the LBA by participating in this survey can contact Dr. Steve Payne, LBA Corresponding Secretary (steve-payne1@live.com) for a copy of it to complete and return.
