Abraham Welcomes Progress on USMCA, Condemns Partisan Obstruction
WASHINGTON - Congressman Ralph Abraham, M.D., R-Alto, released the following statement after an agreement was announced which will allow the USMCA trade agreement to be brought before the U.S. House of Representatives for consideration.
"I’m glad to hear Speaker Pelosi has finally decided to bring USMCA up for a vote after delaying it for more than a year. President Trump and Republicans worked tirelessly on this agreement for the American people which is expected to add $68 billion and 176,000 jobs to the U.S. economy," said Abraham. "Agriculture exports are expected to increase by more than $2 billion annually – that’s $2 billion for our farmers and ranchers we can never get back. It’s a shame the benefits of this historic agreement have been delayed by petty politics and partisan animosity."
