Supporting Louisiana Seafood Through a Land Grant and Sea Grant Partnership

In 2012, the LSU AgCenter commemorated the 150th anniversary of the Morrill Act, which established the land-grant system of colleges across the country, along with the 125th anniversary of the Hatch Act, which established agricultural research at these colleges. Two years later, in 2014, the 100th anniversary of the Smith-Lever Act, which set up a system for extension education and outreach from the land-grant universities, was celebrated.
