Louisiana Milk Production Down 4 Percent from Previous Quarter

Louisiana milk production during the April - June 2018 quarter was 44 million pounds, unchanged from the same period in 2017 but down 4 percent from the January - March 2018 quarter. The average number of milk cows on farms during the quarter was 11,500 head, 500 head fewer than the same period last year and the previous quarter.
