Louisiana Farm Bureau Applauds Senate Passage of the 2018 Farm Bill

BATON ROUGE—The Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation is proud of the state’s two U.S. Senators, Bill Cassidy and John N. Kennedy, for supporting the 2018 Farm Bill.

“Both of our senators really have a good understanding of agriculture and its importance to the state,” said Louisiana Farm Bureau President Ronnie Anderson. “They take time every year to meet with our farmers and ranchers who go to Washington, D.C., and this proves that both Cassidy and Kennedy really hear what our people have to say.”

With both the House and Senate having passed a version of the Farm Bill, it’s now likely the bill will make it to President Donald Trump’s desk before the end of the year.

Louisiana Farm Bureau Associate Commodity Director Kyle McCann said both the House and Senate versions of the 2018 Farm Bill will help the state’s agricultural industries.

Founded in 1922, the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest general farm organization representing more than 140,000 member families.
