Louisiana's Agriculture Commissioner Confident New Farm Bill Being Worked Out

SHREVEPORT - The head of Louisiana's Department of Agriculture and Forestry says he's confident a new Farm Bill will be in place by the end of the year. The farm bill is usually renewed every five years, and the last bill expired September 30. About two-thirds of the farm bill spending goes to nutrition programs such as SNAP.
