Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Mike Strain is headed back to the White House today in his role as president of the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture to once again talk about trade.

During his report on the Voice of Louisiana Agriculture Radio Network, Strain said this meeting with White House agriculture officials comes in the wake of the first meeting between President Trump and the president of China.

“In the first comprehensive economic dialog between the new administration and China, both sides agreed to come up with a 100 day plan for a more balanced trade environment,” said Strain.

“If you look at agricultural goods, the U-S had had an agricultural trade surplus.  And China is expected to import $22.3 billion in agricultural goods from the US this year,” according to Strain.
