Ag Related Scholarship Applications Now Being Taken

Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Mike Strain is reminding students about the America’s farmers grow Ag Leaders Program which awards scholarship to help develop the next generation of agriculture leaders.

The program is a joint venture of the Monsanto Fund and administered by the FFA.

Through February 1st, students looking to pursue higher education in an agriculture related field of study from either a two or four year program or trade school are eligible to apply for a $1,500.00 scholarship through the program.

This year more than 350 scholarships totaling more than a half million dollars will be awarded across 41 states thanks to farmer endorsements of applications and support of the program.

Scholarships are available for a variety of ag-related fields of study including farming, agronomy, education, science, technology, business, communications and several more.
