Virtual Farm Flood Recovery Meeting This Morning at 9am

In the early hours of the rainstorm that flooded much of south Louisiana, emergency personnel quickly realized they had to shift from a property protection mode to a lifesaving effort.

As flood victims work to reclaim their lives, the work remains dangerous and the focus must continue to remain on their health needs, particularly for those in rural areas.  AgriSafe is holding a virtual meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 9 am, CDT, to discuss the needs of farmers and rural residents in helping them stay safe in the flood clean up.

The meeting is open to all professionals in rural health, public health, nursing, social work, occupational health, ag extension, first responders and other stakeholders.

The meeting will address the flood impact on each parish, on-going physical and mental health threats for people working in agriculture and what steps need to be taken next to continue to fill those health needs.

This will be a virtual meeting held through Go-To Meeting Citrix technology. Visit gotomeet.me/agrisafe to join.
