According to Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Mike Strain, a lot of discussion has been going on lately in Washington about President-elect Donald Trump adding more staff members to handle trade and trade regulations, which should be positive.

Strain also met earlier this week with authorities at the Port of Baton Rouge to talk about measures that can be taken to improve the port in the future.

And Strain reports fresh Louisiana Christmas trees have now been installed in the capitol rotunda as well as both the senate and house chambers at the capitol.  The commissioner says fresh Christmas trees “really add to the joy of the holiday season when you smell that fresh Louisiana Christmas tree.”

“We must always remember before any nation can be great it must first be a nation that is great in agriculture,” says Strain.
