Soybean Board Meeting Set for This Week

by Don Molino

The Louisiana Soybean and Grain Research and Promotion Board will hold its annual meeting November 17th and 18th in room 212 of Efferson Hall at the LSU AgCenter on the Baton Rouge campus.

The Executive Director of the board, Kyle McCann, says the meetings start each day at 8 AM.

The soybean board annual reviews each project and "this is probably the biggest and most important meeting of the year in that for two days (the board) will sit and listen to presentations from each research that has received funds from the soybean check-off," said McCann.

Each researcher will review the results he or she received for that year. Each one will have a 10 to 15 minute presentation followed by a question and answer segment.

"The soybean board is a public body," says McCann, "therefore all meetings are public and we would encourage growers that are interested in finding out how their check-off dollars are used or are more interested in becoming involved in the check-off program to attend the meetings and see for themselves where their check-off dollars are being invested."
