All Those Little Luxuries…

Greetings and happy Sunday from Rio.
For those of you who have traveled abroad, you know things are different when you leave the states. As American’s we’re used to taking things for granted, like hot water, safe food, people who speak our language and, most importantly, high speed internet service.
That last part’s a little joke.
It’s not that we’re spoiled really, so much as it is we live in a country that pays attention to detail. The reason the latest round of photos weren’t uploaded until this morning was because I lost the internet connection last night after uploading the first of about 20. The internet has been hit and miss here, another sign that you’re not in Kansas anymore. But miraculously this morning, it was back up humming again, so enjoy the photos.
Today is travel day. We’re on our way back to Sao Paulo, our last in-country flight before we head home Wednesday night. This morning some of us went to the “The Hippy Market,” a series of open-air shops where they can see an American coming from a mile away.
We got some pretty good deals and the bargaining was fierce. Lots of stuff coming back to the folks at home. We hope you enjoy them.
Will try to update the blog tonight, depending on what time we arrive at the hotel. The plan is to be there about 5:30 p.m. Thanks again for keeping up with your friends and family.
Until next time…
