USDA Seeks Nominees for the United Soybean Board

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is seeking nominees for the United Soybean Board to succeed 16 members who represent Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Virginia, and one alternate member in Georgia, all with terms that expire December 2024. Individuals appointed to the board will serve three-year terms beginning in late 2024 and ending in 2027. The deadline for nominations is May 3, 2024.

USDA Announces Conservation Reserve Program General Signup for 2024

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that agricultural producers and private landowners can begin signing up for the general Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) starting March 4 and running through March 29, 2024. The calf was born at Breaux Farms near Kaplan on late Tuesday night, early Wednesday morning. The owners told KLFY News, “We were checking on the cow that was in labor, we found that she had her calf successfully but with a 1 in 400 million chance, she had a calf with two faces.”
